Update from your WSEMA Executive Board

Since the General Membership Meeting last September, the E-Board has been working on the Action Items we shared with you during that meeting.

  • Revision of the WSEMA Scholarship Program – The E-Board has finished its review and update of the scholarship program, including clarifying desired recipient pool, setting process dates, and formalizing the application scoring process.  The new process will be codified in the WSEMA Bylaws and the E-Board SOPs.  We will present the proposed program changes and new language for the Bylaws to the Membership on 21-March, followed by an electronic vote in April.
  • Explore the Potential to Engage a Professional Association Management or Accounting Firm – The E-Board is drafting a Request for Proposals (RFP) which will be disseminated before the end of February, with RFP packets to be received back NLT 31-March.  We are hopeful that we will be able to generate a good pool to select from.  If you have contacts you would like to share the RFP with, please let me know and I will forward the document to you.  Our goal is to have a firm selected and in place before the end of May.  We will include two (2) Members on our interview panel, so please let me know if you are interested in serving.
  • First Quarter 2023 Virtual General Membership Meeting – Please mark your calendars for our Q1 Membership Meeting:  Tuesday, 21-March at 2pm.  A Teams link will be provided to current Members on Friday, 17-March.

Thank you to those of you who have already renewed your membership for the 2023 year.  We sincerely appreciate your support and continued engagement with the Association.  Per our Bylaws, dues must be paid prior to 31-March each year.  As a reminder, you must be a current Member to vote on the proposed Bylaws changes for the Scholarship Program.  Here is the renewal link:  https://wsema.com/membership  Select the Renew / Join WSEMA button towards the bottom of the page

Also, to avoid issues receiving your receipt, please add wastateema@gmail.com to your White List.  If you do not receive a receipt, please check your Junk Mail, spam, or with your IT.  😊  If all that fails, and you still don’t have a receipt, please contact Erika Katt, Erika.Katt@lewiscountywa.gov and she will send it to you.

Thank you again for being a Member and we look forward to seeing you during the Q1 Virtual Meeting.  Please let me know if you have any agenda items or issues of interest to share.
