POSITION SUMMARY:  
This position provides leadership and supervision for the Safety and Security Department and Risk Management.  The Director of Safety, Security and Risk Management is responsible for the execution of the Safety and Security Department’s mission aligned with the District strategic plan. Primary responsibilities for safety and security include supervision, evaluation, and training of the Safety and Security staff.  Primary responsibilities for risk management include develops and implements programs and services to identify risk exposures and eliminate or reduce adverse conditions in efforts to control associated district liability. The Director of Safety, Security and Risk Management serves as the District Safety Officer and leads in developing, implementing, and managing programs designed to effectively address security and district/school safety needs. This position is responsible for coordinating a comprehensive school safety program, which includes working with local law enforcement agencies to monitor and coordinate the school resource officer program.  Additionally, this position works extensively with cabinet, school administrators and community on all areas of district/school/scholar safety.  The Director of Safety, Security and Risk Management is responsible for and participates in the after-hours call-out pool and is also responsible for aligning the work of the Safety and Security department with the District’s educational and operational goals and regularly reporting on this alignment to District administration.

Emergency Preparedness Program Manager, Tacoma, WA (Open till filled)

Position Summary:

The Emergency Preparedness Program Manager serves as the subject matter expert responsible for the development, creation, implementation, and deployment of Emergency Management and Business Continuity initiatives for assigned Interdependent Business Units (IBUs) to enable the MultiCare Health System (MHS), Puget Sound Region to mitigate, prepare, respond, continue clinical/business operations and recover from human and natural borne events, using an All Hazards approach. The Manager contributes to the development, execution, testing, and maintenance of Resiliency and Response plans region-wide; creates business impact analysis and risk assessment reports in keeping with policy and regulations; interacts with county, state & federal agencies when required; communicates status, regulatory activities to IBU leadership; manages MHS Emergency Management and Business Continuity projects and initiatives, and partners with and guides Preparedness Committee chairperson to provide consultation on agenda topics and prioritization of annual work plans.
The nature of work may require presence after-hours, on weekends or during other non-standard shifts as appropriate to meet the needs of an incident or the IBU being supported.

Minimum Requirements:
Three (3) years Emergency Management experience
Two (2) years of relevant healthcare or business continuity experience
